Kurtis Kolt – The Georgia Straight – March 2017 I tasted all these wines in my office just last week when Noble swung by with them, and although I don’t put energy into keeping any sort of poker face when tasting with winemakers, there’s no way I could have maintained one upon trying this Riesling. After just one […]
Kurtis Kolt – The Georgia Straight – March 2017 There’s so much intensity and purity of fruit with this wine, it’s almost like a Gewürztraminer reduction. It has all the attributes we expect from the variety; all of the litchi, rosewater, and ginger are present and opulent, with a nice dusting of sage to balance things out. The […]
Kurtis Kolt – The Georgia Straight – March 2017 A departure from the Un-Oaked Chardonnay above, the “En Famille” take on the grape is fermented with native yeast and carries some enjoyable lifted oak, perfectly balancing all the wine’s orchard fruit. All the pears are here, too: Bosc! Anjou! Bartlett! Each one of them is perfectly ripe yet […]
90 points – Rick Vansickle – Wines in Niagara – April 2017 A highly aromatic and pure expression of Chardonnay with ripe tropical fruits, apple and citrus notes on the nose. It maintains freshness on the palate with a range of tropical fruit flavours, pineapple and touch of citrus to go with subtle minerality on the finish. A delight. […]
89 points – John Szabo – Wine Align – April 2017 A classically perfumed, fragrant, very grapey muscat here from Joie Farm, a bit of a specialist in this lonely genre. There’s a lovely amalgam of elderflower and lemongrass, lemon and grapefuit, fresh tarragon and lavender on a dry, light, crisp frame. The moderate length finish is punctuated by […]
89 points – Remy Charest – Wine Align – April 2017 This signature blend of gewurztraminer, riesling, pinot blanc and pinot auxerrois is a real treat, in its 2016 incarnation. Fresh and aromatic at the same time, with a lovely texture on the palate. Delicious stuff. 90 points – Liam Carrier – Icon Scores – April 2017 Opens with a delectable nose of Tropical, […]
88 points – Rick Vansickle – Wines in Niagara – April 2017 The blend is 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Gamay with a nose of fresh-picked raspberries, cherry, strawberry and light herb notes. It’s slightly off-dry on the palate with ripe red fruits and a smooth, delicious and perky finish. 87 points – Liam Carrier – Icon Scores – April 2017 A […]
